Profile- 9/9/9

WAT Topic- Freedom of Speech should be limited to curb hate speech and misinformation
\*wrote nice two page long essay covering all the aspects.

Two male professors - M1 and M2
M2 opened the door for me.
\*greeted both the professors\*
M1- Okay, so you are currently studying and are at Surat. And you have your marks in 90s so you must be the topper.
Me- Sir I rank 9th among 250.
M2- But you must be the topper in the first semester having 9.56 as a CGPA.
Me- Sir I don't remember but i was among the top 5 students.
M2- So tell me what has been something big in Surat in the past 25 to 30 years that it gained attention worldwide?
Me- The Diamond Bourse which is the world's largest diamond trading office complex.
M1- No no that's not the right answer.
Me- (thought of telling the textile industry or the cleanest city but didn't made sense as they were only domestically famous) Sir I am not aware of that.
M1- Okay that's not a problem, you said about diamond, what do they do?
Me- Diamond Manufacturing Sir.
M2- Really? Or does Surat has Diamond Mines.
Me- I said yes sir it is known for Diamond Manufacturing and Surat doesn't have any Mines.
M2- Then where are the ores found?
Me- I am not aware of that sir.
M2- that's not an answer. I am not aware isn't an answer to that question. Take a guess.
Me- (didn't make any guess)
M1- What were your favorite subjects in your undergrad?
Me- Fluid Mechanics and IC Engines
M1- Tell me some laws which are important in fluid mechanics.
Me- Pascal's Law, Continuity Equation, Bernoulli's Theorem, Navier Stokes Equation
M1- Please tell me how Bernoulli's Theorem can be applied to an Aeroplane.
Me- (asked them for a pen and paper and drew the wings) told them about the curved wings are on purpose and explained that the velocity on the region of the wing is greater, hence K.E is greater and Press. Energy is low. As the upper region has lower pressure than the lower region, there is a lift for the plane.
M1- grilled on why is the velocity greater on the upper region?
Me- told them it is curved and has to travel more distance.
M1- grilled more and ultimately I couldn't answer.
M1- Tell me about Open System now.
Me- Gave a lame answer which i regret and they laughed and said "Even tho I am not an engineer but could answer it better than you".
Just got reminded of the mass transfer and energy transfer but they moved on.
M1- You have very short answers in your application form as compared to others, which is good actually. On what topic should we ask you from this form.
Me- I said football and cooking.
M1- What position do you play?
Me- Goalkeeper
M1- Why goalkeeper? Because you don't have to run?
M2- Or you are FAT?
Me- No sir that's not the case. From childhood I have been playing as goalkeeper.
M2- But why? what is so important about goalkeepers, they just have to stop the goal standing at a place.
Me- told them that goalkeeper is the most underestimated player. told them that if the goalkeeper concedes a goal, it may impact on the confidence level of the whole team, etc.
M2- Okay tell me in the past 25 years what was the most crucial evaluation factor for the goalkeepers?
Me-( was a bit stunned and couldn't answer it. if guys have any clue, please tell me the comment section)
M1- Okay tell me the award for the goalkeeper which the FIFA gives.
Me- Told about emi martinez winning the Golden Glove.
M1- No, tell me what is the long term award. This is a seasonal award.
Me- Sir I don't think so there is any awards. (if you guys know please tell me)
M1- Who is the captain of the Indian National Football Team?
Me- Sunil Chhetri
M1- Not Bhaichung Bhutia?
Me- No sir he is retired.
M1- What is the top league in India?
Me- ISL followed by I-League.
M2- ISL is not the right answer.
Me- blabbered something which i don't remember.
M1- What team does Sunil Chhetri plays in ISL?
Me- Sir i am not aware of that.
M2- Take a guess.
Me- told them Mohan Bagan.
M2- What? Does Mohan Bagan even play in ISL?
Me- I said yes but was a bit underconfident.
M1- What other calls do you have?
Me- Sir IIM Indore and Cap.
M2- Okay Fine. You may leave now.
My CAP interview was the best till now and will be giving Indore's interview in few days. Totally devastated from IIMK Interview. What do you guys think?
Verdict- Waitlisted which cant be converted.
